Inversion Cares

Inversion collaborates with non-profit community partners as part of our Inversion Cares initiative by matching an organization with a particular concert theme. Inversion brings awareness to the work and needs of these organizations by inviting representatives to the concert to share and interact with Inversion audiences.

Inversion Ensemble honors the Coahuiltecan, Tonkawa, Ndé Kónitsąąíí Gokíyaa (Lipan Apache), Jumanos, and Nʉmʉnʉʉ Sookobitʉ (Comanche) peoples on whose lands Inversion’s activities take place. Inversion Cares strives to help these and other oppressed people and to protect and restore the land on which we live.

TreeFolks engages thousands of volunteers and community groups to plant trees in public parks, preserves, and schoolyards.

TreeFolks is Central Texas’ only nonprofit dedicated to community forestry and has spearheaded efforts to protect and expand Austin’s urban tree canopy for over thirty years. Since 1989, we have planted 3 million trees, distributed over 175,000 trees to local residents, engaged over 24,000 volunteers, and educated children and adults about planting, protecting, and sustaining trees. What started as a small group of Austinites planting trees together has grown into a multifaceted organization tackling climate change regionally while increasing equitable canopy cover.

Letters to my younger self - Breakthrough Alumni

Breakthrough Central Texas is the leading college access and success nonprofit in Central Texas.

For more than 20 years, we have partnered with thousands of middle and high school students who aspire to be the first in their family to graduate with a degree or certificate. We make a radical, long-term commitment to students, to and through college, unlocking the power of education and a lifetime of opportunity. We support the whole student with personalized services; work closely with community partners, campuses, and employers; and advocate for our students with lawmakers. Breakthrough students attend 60+ public schools and persist at nearly 100 colleges and universities. The result is that nearly 60% of Breakthrough students graduate from college, compared to 15% of low-income students in our region. Our work has resulted in more than 350 college graduates, with nearly 3,500 on their way, positively impacting families for generations, our region’s educational equity, and the Central Texas economy.

Casa Marianella welcomes displaced immigrants and promotes self-sufficiency by providing shelter and support services.

In addition to shelter, Casa offers access to legal and medical resources, food, clothing, English classes, and other resources. Casa Marianella started in 1986 as one home for men, women and children, but as Casa has grown, a nearby branch site was created in 2003 for women with children (many of whom are escaping domestic or cultural violence) and named Posada Esperanza.

Now, more than ever, we fight for our people and nurture our region to ensure a sustainable, environmentally conscious future for our children and future generations.

Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) provides access to affordable healthcare for greater Austin’s low-income, working musicians, with a focus on prevention and wellness. Many Austin musicians are self-employed and have no access to health insurance or basic healthcare. They often work multiple jobs and struggle to pay for basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, with nothing left for healthcare.
